Grateful for another day to face my challenges.
Grateful to turn anxiety into determination.
Grateful to adopt a curious attitude about the unknown.

The strength of the human spirit always amazes me, grtgrandpa. My mum had MS and I cannot begin to imagine the torment she went through, but she was always there for me when I was growing up. I am so very, very grateful (and more than a little humbled) to have had her in my life

Grateful for this site and everyone here. Grateful for making it through Day One and now into Day Two. Woke up this morning feeling better.

I actually sat and listened with my eyes closed to the birds singing, just trying to be aware of the sounds they were making and nothing else. It was truly beautiful. :)

Thank you, grtgrandpa. She died nearly 29 years ago and the pain is still there, though it's dwarfed by the love I feel and which still grows every day

Grateful I resisted a very strong urge to walk into a bottle shop today and just kept walking by
Grateful I then walked home from town and got some exercise
Grateful I actually did some work today and did not procrastinate all day
Grateful I will wake up hangover free tomorrow
So grateful for SR

Grateful to practice daily gratitudes twice a day and for this site that encourages me to do it.
Grateful for slowly adopting other good habits like fresh juice and meditating.
Grateful to do the best I can today and let it go.

Grateful for my wife who drove me to the doctor who did an EKG and diagnosed me with Bradycardia with a pulse rate of 37 and referred me to specialists for further tests and treatment.

Grateful for a wife without our illness who will make sure I get the right medical help by walking me through it in lock step. I can no longer drive my car. :tyou

Grateful for my recovery program which turns my life over to my higher power God. :scoregood

Grateful to read everyone's posts here this morning. Grateful for green tea in the am. Grateful for the sun. Grateful for my parents and step parents. Grateful for the bus to get me where I need to go

I am grateful for mornings waking up sober and feeling good. Grateful I still have my health and can work. Grateful that I am sober so that when my phone rings and my sister needs help, I can talk to her with a clear head. Grateful to see the beautiful sun rise this morning on a lovely Sept. day.

Most of all, I am grateful to finding my way back to AA and finding my way to this site. I am grateful I can be here for all of you and in return, you can be here for me.

((grtgrandpa))

Grateful for more rest.
Grateful to be reminded by illness of some part of what it felt like to be a daily drunk, and not to like it at all.
Grateful to be useful.

Alysheba 09-17-2014 07:18 AM

(((grtgrandpa))), prayers for you with your tests and I'm so glad your wife is there for you.

Grateful for SR today and for the will to be grateful everyday.

Thinking of you... Take good care. I hope you can get treatment from this specialist soon.
