Fandy 01-12-2011 02:01 AM

Fandy (the 1/2 siamese on my avatar) woke me at 4 am by flicking the big bushy tail in my face and biting me....he wanted an extra can of Fancy feast...they cannot lap up the gravy-lovers chicken fast enough...fat spoiled creatures...and i give in every time...

snowing up a storm here, we must have gotten 7 inches already by me looking at the lid of the trash can.......

i cannot believe that someone just started the Roomba...argh!

LaFemme 01-12-2011 08:08 PM

Grateful I took my dogs to the park today where they had soooo much fun in the snow. If I'm feeling brave tomorrow I might try and post a video:)

Now they are passed out:)

Fandy 01-13-2011 12:51 AM

i am taking a moment to keep a good positive thought for all of the poor animals in Australia who are displaced by the horrific flooding.

Dee posted a number of pics that are better tp explain the devistation there for both animals and humans.... i know we all care.

at least i am putting my insomnia to good use tonight.

Rusty Zipper 01-13-2011 02:21 AM

i saw a photo of someone carrying a drowned Joey,

was real sad

least 01-13-2011 05:33 AM

Many prayers going out for the critters in Oz.

Couldn't sleep last night til late. Jack kept me company in my den til I went back to bed. But the little silly boy didn't get right up on the bed, no, he laid on the floor on his back and rolled back and forth, sticking his paws in the air and acting silly.:) Rolling back and forth out of sheer delight.:) Made my heart sing with joy and gratitude that my dogs are so happy.:) And all because I take such good care of them and love them so much.:) I get more joy out of their happiness than I do out of my own.

This is my best reward for staying sober!

How come every time I get out of bed one of the dogs moves over right into my spot?? ;)

Yep very sad for the animals but the rain also brings new life too, justr getting to much of it at present. We have a large fir tree in the garden and there is either a huge bird or a huge bat living in it., It talks to me when I get up for work in the morning

Bamboozle 01-14-2011 04:05 PM

I love my little cat baby Isis. She is always so happy to see me and greets me when I come home. She constantly gets my attention to play. I think I'll go play with her now.

least 01-14-2011 06:11 PM

Grateful for the happy tears I get from looking at my doggies loving their lives.:) Grateful that they are spoiled healthy happy dogs.:)

Fandy 01-15-2011 06:12 AM

grateful that i have patience in my sobriety...because the cats have been tryig to tell me just how much they HATE the new expesinsive healthy kibble i bought them....they have woken me up between 3-4 am for 3 days running.

finally i figured it out....i will go and purchase the old stuff today and see if i understand what they want.

however, the dog LOVES his new toy-breed Pro-plan kibble...so at leasti got it 1/2 right!

Sneezy 01-15-2011 06:16 AM

Shhhhhh........I'm taking my girl to the P-A-R-K in a few minutes..........she doesn't know it yet

Love to see that little body start wriggling when the leash comes out

:scoregood :duck :dance1a:

invisigoth 01-15-2011 06:21 AM

We got Bombay cat named Gretchen. She's a total kleptomaniac, she steals socks, shirts, hats, gloves, underwear ext ext. She grabs all this stuff and runs around the house making weird muffled meow noises. And she likes to play fetch.
I tried to post a pic buy it didn't work :-(

I think you over estimate my computer skills.

B een adopted by a huge bat

Fandy 01-15-2011 04:11 PM

uh-oh...i do not love bat things with wings...too scary and they poop when they fly.

my friend had a bat once fly in her bedroom through an open widow...she hid in the bathrroom and screamed bloody murder until someone removed the creature in a pillowcase.

cool heads in an emergency....

i took the dead mousey i found on the carpet last fall and just flushed it...the cats were very proud of their *kill*...it had a slit throat in the front bedroom, laid out on the carpet....i was very glad that the cat did not show me his gift in the bed!!!...where they always bring the *toys*

Rusty Zipper 01-15-2011 05:46 PM

Actually I like bats... tho I'd probably not want one flying around in my house... I have the utmost respect for a creature who can nurse their young while hanging upside down.:)

Tonight I'm grateful for these Wonderful Dogs!:) I call little Jack "jumping Jack" cause when I say it's supper time he jumps around with excitement, bless his little cardiac muscle...:)

least 01-17-2011 03:44 PM

I'm grateful tonight that my critters are inside critters and not left outside in all kinds of weather to be too cold or hot and lonely.:( I'm glad my doggies are spoiled rotten and have the run of the house and the run of my heart.:) They own me and they know it.:)

Me too, least :) I'm sure the Dog Whisperer would think I am pathetic!

ItWillBeWorthIt 01-18-2011 04:25 PM

Grateful I didn't panic with our pet bearded dragon lizard was loose in house... couldn't believe how calm I was. He was found safe and sound... glad we found him, because he is a sweetie, but not use to wondering about the house by his self.

least 01-18-2011 05:39 PM

All the doggies are lying on the bed, waiting for supper.:) They are such fun and such a joy to behold.:) Grateful to God and sobriety for their good health and happy dispositions.:)

Where's HL been lately?? I miss you S, please come back.

Fandy 01-20-2011 01:48 PM

Sammy the dog chewed up the new cat toy, the fur mouse is now scalped....the cat carries the scalp around in his mouth to taunt the dog...

lots of cabin fever for all of them...the snow/ice makes it difficult to take long walks...the poor dog has gotten his nose slapped too many times this week..he doesn't understand that the cats do not appreciate his nose in their buttisimos.

glad they will be waiting at the door when i get home from work...the Welcome committee.

I am awestruck! Just got pix from my rescue friend (the lady I got LDD and FFD from). She and her bf re-did her rescue kennels in their huge garage. Wow!! Looks like a doggie-Hilton! They have a construction business so know how to do all that stuff, but the work - omg, the work that went into it is amazing!! She currently has six rescues, not to mention her own three dogs! The woman is a one-woman army!:)

Tried to post a pic but my computer can't 'find' the damn thing - it's right on the desktop!! Anyway, it's truly amazing. I don't think I had that much energy and ambition when I was in my thirties!;) Her rescues are lucky dogs indeed.

Sneezy 01-20-2011 05:00 PM

Calling HL........calling HL...........(is anyone else old enough to remember Car 54 Where Are You? with Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster)?

This cracked me up, Fandy :lmao

Least, when your computer will recognize the pic, be sure to post it so we can see the new digs.

My little doggie walked up to two different men today and shoved her nose right in their crotches......so embarrassing (for me, not her :) )

Horselover 01-20-2011 06:00 PM

I'm here, but I don't know if you want to "hear" from me today as the neighbor dog saga continues. They were "suppose" to relinquish the dog and lo and behold when I take my trash out I see the dog is back and in their yard. I quickly come inside and call Officer Ring (yup we now know each other now) and I ask him about this situation. I say the dog is back and there is now a kennel without a roof in their yard. He does a welfare check and the neighbor goes ballistic on him and says she is going to file a report of harassment. She shows him this Rubbermaid storage box (the kind you store your outdoor cushions in) and says this is the dog's shelter. He tells her that meets the ordinance barely. She says well it meets the ordinance. I'm not feeling well again and its amazing what ignorant people in the world can do to your stress level. He can't do a damn thing because they "meet" the ordinance. They are keeping the dog out of spite. They have no love for this dog. Do I want to go over and let the dog lose? Sure I do!!!

Officer Ring tells me when I file a complaint it is public record and from now on I need to call in anonymously. I said I thought all calls were and he informed me they are not. To protect us he filed today's complaint so it is anonymous. He doesn't like the way they reacted to this visit and wants to protect me. I said I can't stand by and not do anything when I see abuse or neglect and he said he doesn't want me not take action, but to do it without giving my name or address.

The neighbor across the street said the woman is wacko and she said to be careful. The woman is in the military and I would think she wouldn't throw away her career because she's mad that I called her in for neglect to her dog. The neighbor I spoke to said she wasn't sure what the woman would do.

So now folks I breath and hug my 2 lovely dogs extra hard tonight and make sure they are warm and cared for and pray that the puppy is turned into a rescue. Will I call AC again? You betcha! Maybe to **** them off enough that they will give it up because its easier then dealing with this mess. One can only hope.

Sneezy 01-20-2011 06:10 PM

Wow. It's getting kind of sticky, but I'm glad you are clear in your own mind about what you are seeing, and that you have a plan (to continue to work with Officer Ring anonymously). How much longer are you likely to have cold weather there? You won't have to worry as much if the temps are more comfortable for the little guy. I'd probably try to avoid having any contact with them (the neighbors) for a while, if possible.

Hang in there, you have a big heart HL!

Horselover 01-20-2011 06:30 PM

Totally agree Sneezy. Temps are rising. Need to turn this over to Him and let him take the reins. I could drive myself to the insane asylum and at least I'm not drowning these moments. They are moments and they shall pass.

Impurrfect 01-20-2011 09:31 PM

(((HL))) - that would break my heart, and I'd be calling animal control, too. I'm keeping the poor puppy in my prayers.

I just took a test for school...online, timed. Right as I started, Mots jumped on the desk (in front of my notes), gave me an eskimo kiss and wanted to snuggle...Elvis had been on my lap, he got mad, got up and walked across the keyboard, and both didn't understand "mommy is taking a TEST!!"

I only missed one question, got a 96, and at that time, both cats went and found somewhere else to zonk out. It's going to be an interesting quarter. Wonder if the instructor would accept "but I didn't choose answer b...my cat did!!"

It's cold here, so I'm glad everyone is inside and warm.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Fandy 01-21-2011 04:17 AM

cats are quite intuative about certain things Amy...congrats on your testing anyway.

Sarah, you need to be careful that there is no retaliation to you and your animals too. i'm sorry about the situation, but please be safe for yourself.

we have snow again, sigh, the dog loves it, i hate it.
