Hi Ann, they live on a farm near me. The farm has a little restaurant thing and me and my mum sat outside and watched all the wildlife. They have ducks too but I didn't get any decent pics of them. I must go there more often, the food was good too!

found a duck pic from today that isn't too bad so...

What a neat thing. Ducks coming to your porch! Aren't animals great? You can watch them for hours.

How did I miss this thread? Guess I have been WAY yoo busy with work.. and getting ready for my trip out west.

well, I am glad you are all sharing on this post. I can tell you have all gone quackers on me... ROFL

You know, Ann, you could just move out into the yard with the animals and they wouldn't poop on your deck...

BTw and interesting factoid I picked up somwhere.. Canadian Geese poop every 8 minutes. Ducks are smaller.. I wonder if they poop twice as fast or half as fast?

Nice photos folks. I wish I wasn't on dial up here or I would share piles of fotos... and bore y'all half to death..
Also, I have film yet and scanning is a lifetime process. (whine Whine whine... sorry.. just jealous cuz I have bears and coyotes and Moles instead of ducks right now.. tho I like the coyotes I don't want the bears to beak in to the house for food!)

Named after our beloved Admin. and my friend....the Doug. :ban:

Also, Digger the Groundhog's husband is named Dug, with no connection intended but a play on the word "dig". :D

We won't talk about our resident skunk, Pepe Le Pewww, who we don't encourage one bit. :eek5:

I have a groundhog out back called "Gracie"
and red fox, don't see them too often...
and gray squirrels.....and...new last week, a coyote!

(shhh......don't tell Hangin', I'm afraid she'd cook them all for dinner))))

A few years back I made the mistake of feeding a couple of seagulls in my back yard. Well it took no time at all for me to have a hundred or so that would sit (and sh*t) on my neighbors' roofs waiting for me to come out with the day old bread that I fed them. I got a kick out of it but my neighbors were not too happy. Needless to say, the feeding did not last long, but those buggers sure are persistent:) Marle

This just ducky, Dougie, Dug thread is fun Ann. Awesome pics too from members.

I have a wonderful duck story that happened Thursday while I was working at
the Wildlife Rehab Center. A woman brought in a Mama Duck and ten, yes, 10 babies. They'd been hanging at her place and she was concerned the cat would do in some babies.
I took them that afternoon to release them on the lake here. The little ones just squirm and peep peep peep like crazy when you pick them up. Oh, they are so soft
and sweet.
I kissed each one as I put them in their travel carton. Got to the lake and let them out at the water's edge and watched as proud, free Mama swam away with her darlings. Yesterday I just HAD to go to the lake hoping to see the little family. Reached an area of the lake where some Moms and little kids were all smiles
and chattering away. Sure enough they were watching with pure delight mama and her ten darlings. I've been smiling ever since. LOL

Awwww, Frankie, that tickles my heart. I am waiting and waiting for the babies. I believe they may have been born because they seem to take turns coming now which may mean one is watching the babies...or eggs if they are not yet born.

It was a regular menagerie out there today. First sunny day in a few and they are all looking for food...here....at my place :lmao

This thread made my day! I love the expressions on Mr. and Mrs. Duck's faces. They look so satisfied with themselves. The groundhog looks so cute too! They are lucky animals to have you as a neighbor!
