That is a very dangerous statement on a board like this when some people are trying to move heaven & earth to make changes; extremely judgmental considering the violence & abuse some people are trying to leave. Making people feel badly about themselves as parents & guilting them about the damage their children are suffering isn't a very empowering way to encourage change.

And despite what you think, there is no ALWAYS in life, not even in these situations. I've known many, many people that have survived childhoods with addict parents that are no where near as affected as others. A person's individual personality alone plays a huge part.

Okay people, this thread has gone way off the original question.

Get away from the keyboard. Go walk around the block, get some air. Go post in some other thread that does not stir up your emotions. People want to hear your _experience_, not your emotions.

I am closing this thread. TheBob1? Please feel free to start a new thread if your original question has not been answered to your satisfaction.
