Anybody else watch TED talks? Browse Talks | TED.com I found them on Netflix too. I'm hooked. :herewego With topics that cover everything from technology to health, I've found so many that I am interested in. They average between 10-20 mins so it's easy to squeeze them in during lunch breaks, before bed, etc. I've even gotten DD interested in some of them. ("Brain Magic" was excellent!) Online you can filter them by categories & I find that many of those under the "Inspiring" heading fit in nicely with my Recovery. Just thought I'd share! |
Love Love Love TED Talks.. and TEDex |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=rhcJNJbRJ6U Here's a good one that I just watched the other day, and I was actually was thinking at the time what great messages she had for codependents and any others trapped in being afraid to live their own lives. So thanks for the opportunity to post it now. Has anyone read Anita Moorjani's book, Dying to be Me? It's so good, and so inspirational. |

FS-Love TED talks :) Watched several on my Delta plane ride to California the other say, for a work trip I am on. They were free as part of the seat back entertainment. I have incorporated several into classes I teach. I fantasize about writing my own TED talk-when I have free time I think about what my topic would be on and what key points I would want to cover. I seriously would like to "write" my TED talk, even though I am not important enough to get an audience for it (yet?), ha, ha. Maybe that would be a fun thread to start, just for kicks...What would YOUR TED talk be about? If your daughter likes brain magic, do you ever watch the TV show Brain Games? My kids LOVE that show! We used to DVR it-I hope new episodes will be forthcoming. I think it is on the NatGeo or Discovery channel? |

Oh, my gosh! My favorite! Brené Brown: The power of vulnerability | Talk Video | TED.com |
Just watched this one on domestic violence and abuse - why women stay: https://www.ted.com/talks/leslie_mor...ve?language=en |
TED talks are a favorite pass time of mine. |
Definitely! I found Brene Brown through her TEd talk posted above. I also found this one totally worth the time! Pamela Meyer: How to spot a liar | Talk Video | TED.com |
Brene is one of my favorites too. We have her WholeHearted Parenting Manifesto on our kitchen cabinet. She has the best explanation of empathy that I've ever heard. :) RSA Shorts - The Power of Empathy - YouTube These are ALL great! I liked this one a lot too: Shawn Achor: The happy secret to better work | Talk Video | TED.com |
|
These are ALL really great, I finally caught up & watched every one that has been linked here. Every time I think "this one's my favorite!" the next one is just as good. Thank you all for sharing! |
I love them too |
At the risk of sounding stupid here, are these the same things I hear as a radio show on National Public Radio? I cannot open the links (work block), so I am just wondering. I know I love those! |
IDK Hopeful, I've never listened to them there, but it wouldn't surprise me if they are the same. My boss actually introduced me to them, but they watch more of the tech/science-related stuff while I prefer the inspirational. |
Nadine Burke Harris: How childhood trauma affects health across a lifetime | Talk Video | TED.com Watched this new one today (Feb 2015) on childhood trauma, really interesting! |
