Beer and whiskey. Beer because I liked it and, whiskey because it got me "there" quicker.

Cider and skip fulls of it.

HTown 04-20-2017 04:15 AM

Craft beer. IPA

I was drinking a lesser brand name of rum because it was less expensive, but I also liked the flavor better.

i drank the bottom of the barrel garbage beer. or whatever garbage wine or liquor or my own home fermented cider. whatever was cheapest basicly. My standards had totally gone out the window. I was drinking stuff 10 years prior i woulda scoffed at and never drank. But since my consumption level was so extreme by this point it was the only way i could get the most booze for my dollar so i drank the trash. it was the same with smokes too.

Again I woulda drank pee if it had booze in it and i woulda smoked a turd if it had nicotine in it. I think I had no dignity or standards left in me.

Whatever was available. Sometimes even mouthwash.

Typically Barcardi Rum, mid-shelf, I guess. If there was no rum in the house, I wouldn't drink...even if there was other booze. I just wanted rum. Some days when cash was low, I'd do the cheaper brands.

Vast quantities of Bud beer, at the very end when I was drinking all day every day. The corner store didn't sell booze, and it was easier to pop in and out of than the supermarket, and besides I didn't want to wind up in the hospital again from drinking too much hard liquor ;) In earlier years, when I wasn't so bad, I would never have bought that stuff, but it was cheap and easily available.

I drank everyday for 27 years - and have tried just about everything.

In the early days it was cheap beer. I then graduated to cheap whiskey mixed with Coke.

But in the last several years I drank between six to eight 16 oz cans of Miller Lite everyday along with anywhere from 1 to 10 swigs of whatever hard liquor or wine I had in the house at the time.

My last drunk was several cans of Miller Lite on 10/24/2016; I never planned on quitting that day - it just happened.

All I ever drank was beer -and the kind didn't matter, as long as there was enough of it.

Ethanol.

Moderately priced wine. And too much of it.

Being a cheap sort, and pretty good at doing the math in my head, I ruthlessly pursued the best bargains. I scrutinized the labels for alcohol content to make sure I was getting the strongest option.

Store-brand vodka in 1.5-liter plastic jugs offered the best bang for the buck, but by the end of my drinking days, I couldn't stomach the stuff too well.

My repertoire included "Natural Ice" beer (higher alcohol content than regular cheap beer, you know), "211" malt liquor (highest alcohol content of the malt liquor genre), box wine from the supermarket, and Charles Shaw wines from Trader Joe's ($1.99 a bottle).

The most godawful stuff I drank was a concoction called "Tilt" that was aimed at roping in young drinkers. It tasted like fruit punch but packed a 12% ABV wallop. Hey, any port in a storm.

Once I got past the first sip or two, it all tasted the same anyway. It was all about implementing the most efficient alcohol delivery system.

Steel Reserve 211

Soberwolf 04-20-2017 09:38 AM

Thank you so far

DesertDawg 04-20-2017 09:50 AM

Absolut.
Available everywhere, doesn't taste like kerosene...not that I was savoring each sip as much as pounding it down.

Mostly cheap vodka and flavored water. Sometimes just flavored vodka. About a bottle a day - day and a half.

Aellyce 04-20-2017 10:17 AM

Common brands of liquor, mostly vodka and spiced rum. Occasionally more high-end whiskey. I mostly drank wine during the first few years of my alcoholism but once I switched to liquor, I stayed with that. Was never a big beer fan.
