Depending on finances at the time Polish vodka 40% vol (80% proof) 3 Litres of White Cider 2 Litre bottles of cheap white wine. Add on a couple of pints of lager when I could as well. "Going for one to finish the night off" |
Lately it has been Russian Standard vodka as it doesn't give me a bad stomach like wine does. |
LaBatts beer. It had a higher alcohol content or, some whiskey on ice or, whatever was around. |
White wine bottled. 2 litters of 10.5% wine equals to 10 5% alc beers. I drank up to 4 litters/day, app. 20 beers. |
I was drinking higher end vodka in order to cut down on the hangover effects. I could not afford to miss work. |
I was mainly beer/cider drinker (nothing too fancy and the cider was usually strong and cheap!) Then after about 9 or 10 pints, it would be onto the "hard" stuff- Captain Morgan rum and brandy, thinking I was some exotic drinker! Jeez, the madness.... |
Mid-shelf vodka. Always plastic fifths or handles. Plastic so they wouldn't rattle and I could burn the empties in the trash. |
At the end of my drinking days it was the cheapest 16oz tallboys of high ABV ale I could find--St Ides was my 'favorite;' 8.2% ABV, horrible and cheap. Steel Reserve is another one that makes me cringe to think of it. I have been sober since 12.23.15, and I am so grateful for every day without booze. |
Far from being at the end days of my drinking, but only beer, since 15 years. Always hated the taste of wine and spirits. But beer is just as bad. If you drink 10-20 beers you have the equivalent of one bottle of vodka and it's cheap as hell in my country, even the big brands. |
100 proof Vodka |

Name brand spiced rum/vodka/white zinfandel wine. What a waste of money. |
Dirty Bastard and Lagunitas Maximus. Was getting so sick of hops but felt I was keeping things manageable sticking with beer (but 8% ABV!?) And sometimes Budweiser. I’d drink the other stuff too of course. Easy to see how I’ve lost 40 lbs after sobering up. Also, I get to enjoy tons of alcohol free beverages that actually taste good. |
I didn't do the poll, because I didn't fit into either of the 3 categories. The short answer is beer. Not cheap beer, but not the most expensive alcohol on earth. It all fell into the European lagers 5-6% ABV slot. But even if only 5%, enough of those will get you drunk, and I drank plenty more than enough, avg 10 16.9oz cans an evening. |
Everything |
A magnum of wine per day for years. I had a close brush with death and got sober almost 29 years ago. Thank God, it's the most important thing I have every done. |
My very last drink was a fairly expensive premixed gin and tonic. But I was drinking hand sanitizer towards the end. This was when I was on antabuse and couldn't drink much. On my last bender before I started antabuse I was drinking cheap cider. |
I was white wine and vodka with diet 7up (with increasingly less 7up) |
Beer, but with vodka on the side. |
The cheap nasty stuff; vodka, beer and wine. I had an enormous methamphetamine addiction leaving broke most of the time. |
