Black velvet whiskey by the gallon. Or cheap rum. |
Mostly Michigan wine, and discount mail order wine I'd get by the case. High quality stuff discounted to about $6 a bottle. You got what they sent so I liked some of it better than others - but never poured any of it out if I didn't like the taste (of course...). When I drank anything else, it was usually Heineken. |
I use to drink a thing called Cisco all the time. When I stopped that I went over to Brandy, and then down to beer and cheap Vodka. |
Mid-range red wines, mostly Malbec from Chile or Pinot Noir from NZ. I normally spent $15-22 a bottle. |
Earthquake, Natural Ice, Milwaukee's best.. The big cheap cans that had a lot of alcohol content. I didn't drink for flavor :/ |
started and ended with cider. Drank all the spirits at one time or another, lager, beer, real ales, never liked Guinness and never tried absinthe (never will now!) wine, champagne, Perry and various other flavoured alcohol too. Getting a headache just thinking about it |
Wine. Usually merlot, pinot noir, shiraz, or chablis. |
Mostly thousands upon thousands upon thousands of cans and bottles of beer, year after year after year. I had quite good taste overall, but spending a bit more money on something a bit better was also my addiction protecting itself from detection... But I do also think I think that slipping into certain drink choices should send alarm bells ringing. e.g. When I was very seriously off the rails with drinking, I had ramped up my intake by switching to white cider. And before recently quitting I was also drinking a lot of those big cans of ice beer (strictly for the high ABV not the "flavor" I assure you). I'm pretty sure both of those choices exist strictly for the "benefit" of alcoholics. I have certainly never been to a dinner party and been offered Rock Rock White Cider or Cruise Missile Beer or whatever they are calling them this week... |
I stood by my brand "coors light" till I got drunk. After that it made no difference what so ever. Figure I've drank most of everything sold in my area. |
When I quit after a few years constant drinking - cheapest vodka I could find Last week-long binge I had - cheapest wine I could find ick Always started with nice stuff, then got desperate. |
Thanks to all the posters so far |
The supermarket own brand vodka, white rum, brandy and diet mixer. |
Beer, Bud lite w/lime and when that didn't get it for me, Bud Ice consumed at 16 to 24 oz intervals 4-6 per day. One of the biggest things that happened when I quit was lose weight. Imagine that. |
Good whiskey (Middleton, Ancnoc, Green Spot) Belgian abbey beer (orval, leffe, affligem) Followed by cocain and then weed to come back down and sleep. Oh man what a mess i was then. |
Bourbon, bourbon, and bourbon. |
Whatever I could get. The cheaper the better because it meant more. Stealing it was great. -allan |
Sutter Home, baby! The little single serve plastic bottles. Portable, concealable, disposable. |
Anything with alcohol in it i could afford or get my hands on |
Coopers Green (beer) or cheap wine, but the best response I've seen is Ethanol. I'd drink anything. |
Bourbon - Jim Beam |
