Day 8 Hallo! Day 8 here. I keep relapsing and binge drinking like crazy, but it has started causing troubles with my husband, and day to day life, and gives me severe anxiety. It seems like a no - brainer to quit.... so why does it take so long to come to this realization? I have an appointment with my doctor today, as she wants to put me on medication to control the cravings. I am also calling a local out - patient program this afternoon. I am serious. I will do this. All solidarity is appreciated and probably much needed. |
Good for you. We are 100% behind you in your decision to quit, and smart to have enlisted your doctor's help. You'll never regret it. |
Hi LimeGreen good job on day 8 sorry about the anxiety but good call seeing a dr & arranging OP that will help too As for realising the important thing is your realising now & that's good x http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...at-we-did.html |
Sounds like a very positive and brave move on your part LimeGreen, kudos for making the decision to get better. SR is always here if you need support. |
Hi and welcome limegreen - I'm glad you're seeing your DR. There's a ton of support here - you can do this :) D |
Strength in unity. Prayers. |
Hi you guys! When will the exhaustion stop? I'm now on day 9 and I could fall right back asleep even though I got 12 hours last night! Thanks! LG |
Congrats on day 9 LG! The exhausting can take a while, you are still very early in the process though. Our bodies take time to recover from all the abuse. Make sure you are getting enough good food and water, as well as rest. If you really have concerts don't hesitate to see a doctor for a general physical, it's not a bad idea after quitting to do so anyway. |
I treated myself like I was recovering from a serious illness, because I was. I didn't get consistently eight hours a night for a couple/three months. I just slept whenever I got the chance. Turns out it was a great way to ignore drinking thoughts, too. |
It took me well over a month to get my energy back but I hope yours will be back sooner Lime Green :) Congrats on day 9 :) D |
Keep going. You can do it. |
Day ten!!! |
Congrats on double digits LimeGreen, you are doing great! |
Congrats on your decision! I started taking a medicine for cravings yesterday and it's helped, minimal side effects. Keep on the sober wagon! |
welcome, LimeGreen,and congratulations. |
Day 12, and day two on Naltrexone! I am unreasonably exhausted, which is apparently a fairly common side effect... does anyone have any experience with this? I had a 6 hour nap today and am still very tired. Also, no appetite whatsoever, I had to force myself to have a sandwich today... Still trying to see the bright side though! Only two days away from two weeks! :-) |
Strength in unity. |
I was very fatigued for several weeks limegreen - hopefully your experience will be shorter :) Keep as active as you can, eat well...you'll be OK :) D |
Tomorrow is day 14, and i am SO EXCITED about it! The Naltrexone is definitely working, although it makes me not want to eat at all, too. However! I turned down a rum and eggnog tonight which is so great and very unlike me! Yay! I hope you are all having a good holiday as well. :-) LG |
Good job LG! Stay resolved! I shall do the same |
