Living with an alcoholic in an abusive relationship is not fair, heck life isn't fair. The money would be more well spent being put away for when the day comes that emily needs to leave her husband.
To me, this is frivolous spending, when emily has so many other issues in her life that need attention.
Walking/running/jogging with a dog is so much more healthier than walking on a treadmill and what a treat for the dog too! To me, that is a win win situation.
