In 2011 and 2012, I ended up going to an area just south of Paris every couple of weeks with work. It was tiring but all paid for plus it was a very interesting engineering project the likes of which I’ll probably not be involved in again - at the time I didn’t appreciate that of course. So that was the last time I set foot in France. Wow! I’d find it slightly daunting now to visit anywhere off the beaten track there. My French is like most Brit’s (non-existent) and I know the French really don’t like to speak English. You’re lucky, AL, to visit with a French speaker 👍
