Say the truth, something along the lines of...Yes that is true but it is because I know the hell of alcoholism that I don't want anyone, especially my son who I love very much, to experience the things that I did; the pain I put myself myself and love ones (
you) through because of my selfishness actions and thinking I was all cool and had it under control. It was a huge mistake and one I regret. I can't change what I did, but I only hope that you don't have to repeat my mistakes because I love you.
