Grateful that my doctor took one look at my leg and sent me to a specialist on staff. He said it needed surgery and planned it for tomorrow morning. So I had the surgery and woke up to a lot of pain in my leg from the surgery. They gave me pain meds in my IV and kept me there until Saturday. I now have a wound vac attached under the big bandage and it's attached to a vacuum pump to pull out the bad stuff. The nurse will come three days a week to clean the wound and put in more foam tape and put the vac down inside my leg, then bandage the whole thing again with a fresh bandage.
I'm in a lot of pain but am still grateful to be alive and sober.
Grateful for my wonderful health care providers.
