FWIW, you sound to me like you've got your head on straight -- but I find the following Big Book quote is rarely irrelevant.
It is easy to let up on the spiritual program of action and rest on our laurels. We are headed for trouble if we do, for alcohol is a subtle foe. We are not cured of alcoholism. What we really have is a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of our spiritual condition.
For me, the requirements for maintaining my spiritual condition are summed up in the circle & triangle of A.A. The three-sided triangle prescribes: (1) Unity [attending meetings], (2) Recovery [working Steps], and (3) Service [working with newcomers]. Only when I am firmly grounded in all three of the foregoing can I be whole -- as represented by the circle wrapped around the three-sided triangle.
