Acceptance that I could never resume my former 'social 2 drinks persona' after I crossed the line, and neurologically altered my brain, was key to me. I had to accept that after a period of abstinence, my brain's default state would always be 'drink, drink, drink ' - NOT just 2 drinks, ever.
