My $0.02 on this is that we don't indeed nor exactly know what will work for anyone else. What we do know is that the choice to keep drinking won't be good. So however we can share our ESH (experience, strength and hope) as AA calls it, and other programs have their versions of this - that's what matters. At the end of the day, "it keeps getting better" means we have a chance at life.
