i guess maybe I am looking for some kind of certainty and security about the future that others seems to have. Those with a stronger faith seem to feel like “I’m safe because of my HP” etc

I do not believe in a higher power such as gawd or Jebus.
Just doesn't make sense to me.
Now the Universe I can believe in.
And ultimately you are correct, it's on ME to take care of this.
If you need religion or a HP, great for you. Just don't expect that everyone will buy into it
