I'm glad you have a doctor friend to call upon.
I don't think you need to suffer anymore - drinking brings its own suffering - so if you have any concerns or worries or questions don;t hesitate to call your friend or go to the ER.
One thing I would like to ask you - when do you think is the most critical time when detoxing from alcohol?
It varies according to circumstance general health and whether it's medication assisted or cold turkey detox (the latter very much not recommended by me)
