My old sponsor once told me that I should put the same amount of effort into getting clean that I did into getting high. That's stuck with me. I'm naturally impatient, as all addicts are. But now I've started the process I have to stick with it otherwise I'll just feel worse about it. I'm getting to a 12 step meeting before the end of the week just so I can ease myself back into it.
