Thanks Dee and Manta! I stayed right away from the bar. But then the flight had complementary wine! I came so close. The AV nearly had me convinced that a lovely red wine would be just lovely... especially as I watched it being poured into the cup of the lady sitting next to me
and then watched her cup get filled up again. I just kept telling myself what would happen next. One wouldn’t be enough. Two wouldn’t be enough. Then I’d be scrabbling around at my destination trying desperately to find a way to keep drinking voraciously all night, trying to hide how much I was actually drinking from my companions, until bedtime! So I’m at the next airport waiting away from the bar again for my second flight, nursing another coffee. I will not give in to the lying AV. There’s nothing “lovely “ about the amount I used to drink.
