sounds like you're in a bit of trouble LG.
Smirk away, but my social life's never been better
It didn't start out that way - I really had to work hard to build a social life I enjoyed, but didn't tempt me.
I've almost certainly shared before that I started small, avoided alcohol where I could and worked my way back up to being around drinkers again.
If you've decided thats not a route for you, you might be miserable for a while being around drinkers until you find a way to be happy with that scenario.
As for 'everyone drinking' - the guy born in a forest thinks the whole world is covered with trees
As a drinker I surrounded myself with drinkers - but there are non drinkers, and normal drinkers out there
I know you're venting - but this is more than a vent, man.
Saying you won't drink is awesome ....but being po-ed with the world is exactly how the path back to drinking can start.
You've been doing great - but you've been less active lately....
Be smart and nip this in the bid now.
Practice some gratitude - think of the great things your recovery has given you already like the day out with your son. I'd choose that over drinking anyday.
If you're not happy - think about what *would* make sober less happy and how you'd get there?
