I'm in the same boat, surprisingly its been pretty easy to abstain. Abstaining has never been an issue for me, the issue is when I had that first drink I didn't want to stop. Beer for me is when I ran out of vodka or whiskey and by that point it was never just one as I was trying to "keep the party going" for my "nightcap".
