If I felt like I wanted to get drunk, I'd definitely take that as an opportunity to spend some time journaling and talking to my spouse or counselor or sponsor about where I'm at in life and see if I couldn't work out what was underlying that desire.

For me, it would be an indication that I might have something to deepen with my sobriety.

At a minimum, it would be a call to reaffirm the goodness of sobriety in my life and to consciously give thanks for what sobriety brings me - which would lead me back to the place of NOT wanting to get drunk.

I'm glad you shared, I'm glad you're not going to drink, I'm glad you wrote it here instead of acting on it.
