The ER doctor that I first saw suggested tapering for me, but I knew I was "all or nothing", so I quit cold turkey. Perhaps not the wisest decision, but it all worked out for me as the withdrawls weren't too bad. Once you do stop for good, I hope you have some sort of plan in place to stay stopped.
