I've spoken with the staff at my mums care home today, it sounds like she is nearing the end of her struggle. She's sleeping pretty much all of the time, and is terribly dehydrated, as she isn't able to eat or drink. She has been at this stage before and then miraculously started to eat and drink again. I just hope she remains peaceful and free from pain, whatever happens.
The home will call me if there is any change either way.
I have mixed emotions about it all, but I know the kindest thing would be for her to slip away.
It's a very strange time, but I'm ok, really I am.
