Thirteenth, I didn't believe that anything terrible would happen to me and I felt sure I could and would stop drinking before that. Turns out, I wasn't in control and when drinking was seriously affecting my family life and health, I tried to stop and found I couldn't and wouldn't. I was lucky to get out when I did.
