JeffreyAK is right. Most former alcoholics quit without any formal recovery program, including AA. This might not be evident because most just get on with things, filling their lives with the good stuff. They don't necessarily hang around here and many feel as I do that they are done with the stuff, forever and for good. That's why you won't see them on message boards, they are just too busy!
Others feel as you and I do, Talkinandwalkin, that we can perform a service to those still stuck in their addiction, interested in how others have gotten sober. There are lots of resources available, and the Secular Connections forum is devoted to these alternative support tools.
