MLD, maybe check Craig's list for a washer? I got mine from the now deceased father of my parent's neighbor. It's old and will need replacement as the bolts holding down the top have rusted off. But it works and it was free. I agree that they don't build appliances like they used to. I replaced the vintage 1964 dryer that was sort of still working. The new one has had more service calls.
Arrived at work. Psyching myself for the day. Listening to the radio telling me that processed meat BACON is associated with increased cancer risk. Bummer.
