Returned earlier this evening, Frank. 360-mile drive.

It was a nice time. It's important to have that time with her. She handled the trip well and we enjoyed Door County greatly. The picture of the red pierhouse was taken from my cousin's boat. He and his lady friend moved to the area a couple years ago and it's a view you can only get from the water. Lucky us!

The pierhouse is at the point where a manmade canal (I'm not sure -- are there any other types) was dug in the 1860s to connect Lake Michigan to Green Bay.

I was born and reared in Wisconsin but only visited Door County as a very small child. It's every bit as charming and lovely as I'd hoped.
