AV = addictive voice (alcoholic voice is just as good). Some folks here use what's called "AVRT" which stands for "Addictive Voice Recognition Technique" to remain sober. You can read about it in the secular connections thread.

Even some folks who don't completely subscribe to that path embrace the term to acknowledge the battle in their minds between the part of them that wants to get sober and the part that wants to hang on to drinking/using.
