That is pretty serious that you fell down the stairs. I am glad you are all right. One of the things that has always helped me with getting sober is that even when it's tough, knowing that if I don't pick up again, I never have to go through this again.
Also, if you go to the newcomer's thread, there is a 24 hour thread in which you can commit yourself to being sober for 24 hours. I have found that thread to be very helpful.
