There's varying perspectives and nuance in looking at powerlessness and disease (yes and no to each in some ways) whether coming out of an AA or AVRT approach, along with one's one personal beliefs. It's just an enormous blessing that people have different approaches to choose from, and that they can find them right here.
I might have tried AA except I'm terrible about going to meetings and had fear of being recognized in my community for something that was done in secret.
