Tod, I hear you - in fact, I was posting the same sort of thing at the same time you were! The negativity wears and wears, and you begin to question your own sanity. You start to wonder if you're the problem instead of the problem being in their head. and it gets easier to live with the problem because you're tired of fighting it, and you realize your standards are slowly being lowered, and what you never would have settled for years ago has now become the new normal.
