I had serious organ damage by age 31. Stopped at 32.
I would have been one of those alcoholics that would have died by 35 and left everyone saying "but Melinda was so young!"
I drank hard, fast, and daily from 24-32. Never less than 12-14 drinks a night. I used up my life's allotment very quickly.
I have been sober for nine months.
(The damage is reversible with complete abstinence. I was one of the people who's doctor said, in no uncertain terms: stop drinking NOW or you will die very soon.)
And to think I had always planned to stop in my 40's or 50's. What a surprise!
