When I was drinking I don't think I loved it more than my wife. My wife was my fist love and still is. It wasn't that I loved drinking. In later drinking days I hated it yet wasn't willing, or thought I couldn't to give it up. My twisted mind and later my body was convinced I needed it as much as air. Then I was left with the ultimatum.
