The only friend that he has is his alcohol. when it is gone so will his other pals be. And he will come crawling back to you . Who was his real true friend. Then you will need to make a real decision. You cannot change him. YOU can only change you. By making yourself happy and secure in your life and detacing and realizing that his problems are his and his alone, only he can make the decision to change. So, until that happens, you need to work on making yourself and your kids lives liveable and somewhat happy and contented. Remember this too shall pass.
