I knew I had a drinking problem in 1986. I first self-identified as an alcoholic in 1990. I quit drinking in 2014. I make that at least 24 years of
not accepting it.
In my case there was ignorance involved. I knew I didn't drink like normal people and I didn't mind the label
alcoholic, but I didn't fully understand what it meant until last year.
