The best way to get somewhere is to start heading in that direction. Seems simple enough. But for this alcoholic when I first came to understand I had a real problem a week seemed about as far into the future as I could handle. And even then that seemed long at times. Day by day.
We had a weekender theme proposed by Nonsesical. "What do you hope to accomplish in 2015?"
I thought about that a bit and I don't honestly know. I do know only one thing matters. Only one thing can stop me. Drinking. Or I should say not drinking. It is the teetering point for everything else I want to do.
So picture what you want the new year to be. Try to visualize being sober every day. What do you want 2015 to be for you?
