motorcycle ride was not at all "fun" was more, some kind of ...mission I compel to do.
I think 'fun' is verbal shorthand for whatever floats your boat. Some of our compulsions become compulsions because they once (or twice or for a long time) floated our boats. Addicts often switch their addiction for some other kind of thrill -- some of which are dangerous to self and others, some of which aren't.
It's okay to admit to having fun, but you can use whatever words you like of course. Not here to pick on words. But funny story, I told my husband the other night that I was feeling very strange -- light-headed, giddy, full of energy and then suddenly exhausted, with a buzzing in my skull. He said, "That's happiness." Maybe it is -- characteristically I wouldn't know.
