Keeping busy is the best thing in the beginning.
That and plenty of sleep / good food & plenty of water.
Ice cream is my emergency measure for cravings.
I also ate a lot of dried fruit, especially figs, for trace minerals
and to get the sugar in my system I used to get from metabolized alcohol.
I tapered down on the dried fruit as I got used to doing without the booze.
What hobbies did you have or would like to try?
You will find you have quite a bit of time that used to be taken up by drinking.
