Maybe next time you plan an event, is it possible to not invite him, don't even tell him about it? Or would the kids tell him? I certainly know how you are feeling, I would not want my AH at my kids event, something bad always would end up happening. Thankfully my H is in recovery at the moment, but I feel your worries.
