My sister's coming home from rehab today, my bf just left to bring her back home. I've never been so nervous to see her in my entire life. I'm not sure what I need to say when I'll see her or what to do. The last thing I want to do is being a trigger for her. As an addict/alcoholic I know what it's like to get sober even though I've never been in rehab. I know if she really wanna stay clean she will, it's her own choice but it's stressing me to see her after so many years. Any tips on what to say/do to help her?
Tell her you love her. Tell her you're proud of her. Since you've been there yourself you have a unique perspective on what will help.
