He will get sober or not whether you stay or go. His sobriety (or lack of it) is his problem, his concern.
YOUR well being, peace of mind etc are within your power & control. You have to do what is necessary to make sure that you are ok. Stay if it's the right thing for you. Leave if it's the right thing. Only you can know for sure.
