Kitty, hang in there! I know the darkness will lift the more days you have sober, so keep plugging away at them. It was very kind of your friend to express his concern. I think even though the office might not have been a place for you to comfortably discuss it with him, the door is now open to discuss it with him in the future, even if by email, like someone said.
