I'm sorry for the situation you put yourself in.
I agree with the other posters here tho.
I know you want to fix this but the only real fix for these things is time, and doing right.
When you let down people as much as I did, words meant nothing by the end. Tryong to explain just made it worse.
The fact remains that trying to score for someone else, whatever the altruism, is no way what you should have been doing.
if you where in others shoes I'm sure, fair or not, you'd have doubts about you too now.
You can recover your reputation - but it will take time patience and effort...and a little faith too.
And do it for you, not them.
The fact that people will believe in you again eventually is great, but it's not the main thing - the main thing is you'll have changed - you'll be clean
