I don't think there is anything wrong with going to AA meetings with no intention to doing the steps or getting a sponsor.
Is it just for a special group? I thought it was for anyone that wanted to quit drinking.
In my case I use AVRT but I have found great sober friends there that I wouldn't have found otherwise. More of a fellowship for me.
