Sounds like a sucky situation. I hate having to deal with confrontation of any kind, but that kind really makes me want to duck and run.

Thing is, that even though in recovery we feel bright and shiny and want people to appreciate that we are doing something noble and difficult and be understanding, sometimes we fail to remember that they are going through crap of their own, often that we know NOTHING about.

99% of the choices others make and the things they do have nothing to do with us, it's about them, doing what they need to do for their own reasons.

They are usually less interested in screwing us over, and more interested in saving their own butt.

I just am not that important to most people for them to put effort or energy into worrying about me one way or another.

Even when we aren't aware of it, everyone is fighting their own battles. Just like we are. I try to cut them some slack, and in doing so realize I am giving myself a break as well.
