It's the classic balancing act...I find it helpful to re-engage with my life and my community, but I also spend a lot of time here, and have to be conscious of times when I need to pull back from the outer world and concentrate on myself.
If you're serious about getting sober, you'll need to inform yourself and put together a solid plan of action. Mine, for example, includes this site, weekly therapy, just about any constructive activity I can get my hands on, expressing gratitude, knowing when to lean on others and ask for help, etc.
But what works for me may not work for you. This is a very personal and individual thing.
