When the addict crosses the line into harming others something should definately be done, i know it has to be hard, but if police intervention is what needs to happen then i wish you luck with it. i've stolen my childrens christmas away, solen birthday parties etc. i understand how he is rationalizing it and also i can empathize with you, now in recovery seeing the pain i was bringing upon my wife and children. hopefully this will be enough to let him see past his own addiction and get help for himself. if you let it slide , its just enableing him to continue. best of luck with this and i hope everything works out for you in the end.
