I'm not going to lie to you, alcohol is everywhere and its culturally accepted. It's also one of the most dangerous and destructive drugs in the world. But it's also possible to get better. The one thing I have seen since being here is that there are a number of ways to get better but you have to do something. You need a plan and you need to do the work. That's why AA is so popular, it's all laid out for you.
So, my advice is to spend some time on SR, read what others have done, check out an AA meeting if you are inclined and get to work. That said, since this is day 1, you can also play a video game, just don't forget to get to work tomorrow:-)
